    there are some great principles applied in any market but too many references to old technology that’s no longer relevant. said he was going off script way too much

    Brash abrasive ignorant cocky is not all those things but if you believe you’re right and he’s wrong that’s what you’re going to see him as. the thing that stands out about the book is the story about LeBron and how he went about leaving Cleveland to Miami and now reading the book in 2018 and seeing what he has done he’s right he’s been embraced by his City had he done what garyvee suggested he may have been able to limit the amount of things that were said about him

    Thoroughly enjoyed it. If you don’t know anything about marketing, this book is for you. If you do know something about marketing, it is worth listening to simply for the entertainment value of having the book narrated by its high energy author. Best part of the listen was the many times Gary Vaynerchuk would go “off script” to bring currency to the aged words on paper.

    In comparison to Gary’s other books, this one was a 9 out of 10. Content was good and his style was great. Fun to listen to even if you’re not focusing. However, I wouldn’t recommend this book over his other books. His other books have the style, the passion, the Gary vee-ness that you expect. This one simply doesn’t have as diverse content as his other books. He talks about customer service, then nails it in hard.

    Content contained within should be treated like gold. Case studies are shining example of how to treat customers as humans and not data points. Every social media and customer support function should base strategy off of the principles set out in this book.

    Gary kills it, again. Just sad I read/listened to this in 2017. He advised at the end that all the strategies would be ruined, or at least not as rare by 2015 and everybody would be doing it. Sadly, I don’t think that’s the case. Still time to learn, implement and catch up. Just follow his new stuff and you’ll be where you need to be. Thanks Gary. Keep crushing it.

    Great Content With One Annoyance
    I loved his content. I hated how every few minutes he kept saying “I’m going to go off script here…” That one sentence alone over and over had to eat up at least 20min of total listen time. It really ruins the flow of the content.

    Ways to improve
    If you have ever watched anything done by Gary Vaynerchuk ie GaryVee he brings voice inflections that bring you back in, I once saw a GaryVee video where they wanted to produce audiobooks in a certain way. I believe this audiobook could have used Gary’s excellent creative abilities & personality more.

    Content/Story was I can’t wait until audiobooks transition into a video/audio format one day

    I’ve recently had my ego and pride checked, which was so big, that I didn’t realize that I was doing many things in my life the incorrect way.
    The most prominent mistake I’ve been making for years is not appreciating those around me, including myself.
    The TYE made sense both in marketing and in real life applications: always take care of the person on the opposite side to the upmost level. I’m desperately applying this knowledge to my psyche, the universe knows I’ve been needing some guidance!

    while the book has some years behind it, The Thank You Economy is still very much a relevant read! The part I love the most is the fact that one, it is read by the author, 2 The little blips of audio that he adds to update on current trends. While I don’t think it’s done regularly, I do love the fact that he gives it a more relevant example.

    Last 4 minutes of the book sum it up. Too dated to be especially useful which is why the points in the last 4 minutes are all the is useful. You can sort of live and sort of die by social media.

    I can’t think of a person who is not involved in the provision of services sector, therefore you are interested in this book. Either as a client or as a company, Gary’s book clearly demonstrates how clients want to be treated, and how companies should be treating their clients, regardless of the platform. Yes, social media conversations are happening now; however all the values he describes and the way he suggests we build relationships is useful. I don’t think it would ever become obsolete.

    The end of this book Gary V finished with a proclamation that this content will be irrelevant by 2017.

    On that point I will absolutely disagree. Gary has a talent for distilling core elements of social media and human behaviour, along with VALUES rather than simply techniques. I’ve taken at least a few pages of notes for my social media assistant to implement in her sharing and engagement with our fans.

    In short there’s still a great deal of value available. It’s an easy listen, and Gary has good rhetorical style to clarify his points and keep it entertaining.

    Still Relevant in 2018
    Somehow I missed this one after finishing Crush It, I was about to purchase Vee’s newest release and then saw TYE. I couldn’t pass it up and you shouldn’t either, great read! Simple and to the point. If you’re young and trying to compress all the options or older and trying to make sense of business and social media, this book is for you. If you are actively working and engaged on social media, this book is a great recalibration of your focus and energies. Well worth your time, I chose the Audio version to commit finishing and rereading this book. Highly recommended! Thanks GV!
