dated story, toomany references to old tech
there are some great principles applied in any market but too many references to old technology that’s no longer relevant. said he was going off script way too much

  2. Sam Chaloux

    GaryVee is….
Brash abrasive ignorant cocky is not all those things but if you believe you’re right and he’s wrong that’s what you’re going to see him as. the thing that stands out about the book is the story about LeBron and how he went about leaving Cleveland to Miami and now reading the book in 2018 and seeing what he has done he’s right he’s been embraced by his City had he done what garyvee suggested he may have been able to limit the amount of things that were said about him

  3. Ezekiel Roberson

    the Jim Kramer of marketing
Thoroughly enjoyed it. If you don’t know anything about marketing, this book is for you. If you do know something about marketing, it is worth listening to simply for the entertainment value of having the book narrated by its high energy author. Best part of the listen was the many times Gary Vaynerchuk would go “off script” to bring currency to the aged words on paper.

  4. Georgette Maffei

    pumped as fuck
Gary goes in deep about the book he claims is his most important one, and i can see why now. 100/100

  5. Laurence Hertler

    Gary rocks it
Huge fan of Gary Vaynerchuck. I love following him on the Daily V, and watching his keynote speeches.

  6. Georgi

    Great book
The book talks about the new marketing trends in the world through social media. I should have read it when it came out.

  7. Esteban Crimmins

    Expected a 10, got a 9
In comparison to Gary’s other books, this one was a 9 out of 10. Content was good and his style was great. Fun to listen to even if you’re not focusing. However, I wouldn’t recommend this book over his other books. His other books have the style, the passion, the Gary vee-ness that you expect. This one simply doesn’t have as diverse content as his other books. He talks about customer service, then nails it in hard.

Practical advice for anyone in business
This should be mandatory reading for anyone who wants to be in business. Principals are still relevant and applicable six years after publishing.

  9. Bernetta Allgaier

    increddible, practical, and real advise.
Gary is epic, real and always……right!! listened to it back to back. changed the way I look at social.media and being kind to others. Thanks Gary.

Gary never fails to impress me
Gary was the first person to walk me up from a mediocre existence. His personality and passion caught my attention then his view point opened my eyes to an entirely new way of thinking.

  11. Grady Lyndaker

    Great Book. Love Gary Vee!!
Gary’s thoughts, wisdom and perspective on the future are 100% true, especially- today. Ten Years After he wrote This Book. I have enjoyed following him and his work and look forward to his newest book and… if you read this review… please follow him, but more importantly listen to what he says!! thank you very much Gary for the work you do it is much appreciated. ~Andy Kachaylo

  12. Elvis O.

    Gary Vee crushes it
This book was so much more than just an opinion. it gives a real road map on why social media and interacting with customers is so important it is a must read for all business owners

  13. Diane Boettger

    perfect.
“I’m gonna go off script now.” -Gary
Can’t beat Gary’s realism, wisdom, and raw disregard for the status quo.

  14. Cuc M.

    Gary is wise. Listen up.
Highly recommend all of Gary’s stuff. He could charge $99/book and it would still be stupid cheap.

  15. Deandre Salvietti

Still relevant, if not more so then when written
Content contained within should be treated like gold. Case studies are shining example of how to treat customers as humans and not data points. Every social media and customer support function should base strategy off of the principles set out in this book.

    Ahead Of The Game
Gary kills it, again. Just sad I read/listened to this in 2017. He advised at the end that all the strategies would be ruined, or at least not as rare by 2015 and everybody would be doing it. Sadly, I don’t think that’s the case. Still time to learn, implement and catch up. Just follow his new stuff and you’ll be where you need to be. Thanks Gary. Keep crushing it.

  17. Keitha Luga

Útil para comprender el servicio al cliente
Un poco obsoleto para el 2017 pero funciona mucho para entender servicio al cliente.
hay buscar como aplicar los conceptos a lo que hay ahorita que son los influenciers

  18. Jillian Inestroza

    Great Content With One Annoyance
I loved his content. I hated how every few minutes he kept saying “I’m going to go off script here…” That one sentence alone over and over had to eat up at least 20min of total listen time. It really ruins the flow of the content.

  19. Jahsiah

A must Own for any business
This audio was very Informative, he definitely brings his energy along with the content. Thanks Gary!!.. I’m listening to it after years of it being written and it’s like it was written yesterday.

  20. Jerrell Ronsini

    Highly informative!
Must have knowledge for any business owner. This book gave me a fresh perspective on marketing.

  21. Somer Chesner

    I tried to like it
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

  22. Lucien Tekippe

    awesome book
once again gary hits the nail on the head. awesome books highly recommend getting this book

  23. Julius Ivaska

    Great book!
I love the heart of Gary Vee so it was a no brainer that I would enjoy this book. Really great read for leadership, social media, marketing, sales, appreciation, and customer service.

  24. Antonio Mooser

    Awesome Read!
Legit! Content is on point…A must read by everyone. Social Media is def the correct terminology for the state of the internet as we live. This book may change your world, just by simply changing your thoughts.

  25. Vi L.

    am I too late?
being that I first listened to this in 2018 and Gary says after 2015 this may be obsolete, I still think it says something to really care about your customers

  26. Ilana Saetern

    Worth Every Second
Been following Gary Vee for quite some time and have read through some of his other amazing books as well. Finally picked this one up and was engrossed from beginning to end. Definitely worth the listen!

  27. Matt R.

    Ways to improve
If you have ever watched anything done by Gary Vaynerchuk ie GaryVee he brings voice inflections that bring you back in, I once saw a GaryVee video where they wanted to produce audiobooks in a certain way. I believe this audiobook could have used Gary’s excellent creative abilities & personality more.

Content/Story was I can’t wait until audiobooks transition into a video/audio format one day

    As always thanks.

    Rob

  28. Damion Fromm

    great job
awesome as usual. THANK YOU GARY for the great take on the world. keep it up

  29. Willis Lockyer

FUCK YEAH, GARY VEE! THIS BOOK IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!
I’ve recently had my ego and pride checked, which was so big, that I didn’t realize that I was doing many things in my life the incorrect way.
The most prominent mistake I’ve been making for years is not appreciating those around me, including myself.
The TYE made sense both in marketing and in real life applications: always take care of the person on the opposite side to the upmost level. I’m desperately applying this knowledge to my psyche, the universe knows I’ve been needing some guidance!
Gary Vee, I fucking love you!

  30. Dusty Willinger

    over exposed
I guess it’s good to be ever-present in marketing, but it’s getting less revolutionary every time I hear it. The only remaining surprise so far is that these practices haven’t been adopted more widely.

I’m also finding good work ethic at odds with Tim Ferris. Who’s right?

  31. Ray Ashton

    Great Motivation!
Great book I think any business person would like it. Gary’s books are very good

  32. Toby Cavagna

Gary truly understands the business works
and you along like a tour guide visiting a museum. a must read for anyone looking to better understand the climate of their own business and that of the worlds.

  33. DinoNuggets

    Gary kills
always love when an author narrates. love it even more whenit’s Gary V! energy and insights are great, and it’s fantastic when he goes off-page.

  34. Cassy Orochena

    Fantastic
Best Gary Vee book I’ve read. He says it will be irrelevant by 2015 but in 2017 there still aren’t enough companies caring.

  35. Bailey Deases

    what a great read!
while the book has some years behind it, The Thank You Economy is still very much a relevant read! The part I love the most is the fact that one, it is read by the author, 2 The little blips of audio that he adds to update on current trends. While I don’t think it’s done regularly, I do love the fact that he gives it a more relevant example.

  36. Customer

    Thank you Gary for this
Thank you Gary for this, this is one of those books that make the reader a better person

  37. Frederick Hickingbottom

    Great book
The raw and real of everything …. I expect nothing less from Gary V! Great listen ??

  38. Yvette Brookover

    Loved it!
I love Gary’s take on life and work. This book should be a must read for anyone starting a business and for all the CEO’s who think they’re more important than their employees and/or customers.

  39. Joe the computer wizz... Not really.

    Excellent listen!
Gary just keeps amazing me even more. He is so in tune with how things will be. In 2017 the Thank you economy is even more real and more present and is how customers are shopping. The days of the lowest price are beginning to dwindle.

  40. Talisha S.

Gary V knows how to capture his audience
An amazing listen/read with the man himself narrating. He goes off-script which I really enjoyed and tells relevant and valuable stories about how to leverage the thank you economy for any industry.

  41. Louanne Perez

    nice
it was good, his point of view seems legit, just have to test it to see if it works

  42. Doyle Tarrenis

    Fascinating Information
Great ideas and information for business owners, entrepreneurs, and sales individuals. Social media information is a little outdated because it was written in 2010, but still very interesting to reflect on. very accurate as well.

  43. Carmelo Laudermilk

    timeless advive
Technology may come and go but cherishing your customers and being authentic are timeless traits that will lead to success.

  44. Randall Stopyra

Possibly the most brilliant man in business!
Gary Vee has literally inspired me to tear my business down, and rebuild/rebrand it from scratch, using the tools in this book. I am an avid fan of Gary and his content, and hope to someday meet him, thank him, and buy him a cup of coffee.

  45. JAD

Thank you Gary, you have added so much value.
you have added so much value. Thanks again I will go through it again and again.

  46. Len Warden

One of my favorites books so far.
reading this book definitely inspired me to follow this philosophy. I will be reading more of Gary V.

  47. JustinBatzUS

    Amazing Book!
I loved it. Too busy to say more. Get it, listen to it and implement it. What are you waiting for?

  48. Hal Wascom

Last 4 minutes of the book sum it up.
Last 4 minutes of the book sum it up. Too dated to be especially useful which is why the points in the last 4 minutes are all the is useful. You can sort of live and sort of die by social media.

  49. Shu Przedwiecki

    Fantastic listen
Simply superb content, even listening to it in 2017 from New Zealand, I can see so many things we could implement here in New Zealand, still relevant and still very insightful. Thank you Gary, love your passion.

  50. Neida Sampair

    Must have!
This is a book that transcends time! It will be interesting to come back in a few years and see how much was right… my guess?? 100% accurate

  51. Alita Sidbury

    Real in 2011. Real today.
Gary has a very simple way of approaching everything. I absolutely love his stuff and his book is no exception.

  52. Nerissa Schucker

    Must read!
I can’t think of a person who is not involved in the provision of services sector, therefore you are interested in this book. Either as a client or as a company, Gary’s book clearly demonstrates how clients want to be treated, and how companies should be treating their clients, regardless of the platform. Yes, social media conversations are happening now; however all the values he describes and the way he suggests we build relationships is useful. I don’t think it would ever become obsolete.

  53. Mayola Hollinrake

It’s mid-2017 and this book is still accurate
    Any additional comments?

  54. Lonnie Woodrome

    Great
love the examples Gary uses in this book giving good strategy. Gary the author of this book is a great narrator. I highly recommend it to anyone business owner and artistic people.

  55. Anja Schmidt

    Very educating
Where does The Thank You Economy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

  56. Kelley H.

    Outdated bu t good
As the author said this book will be outdated in 2015 and wlhe was right but still a good read

  57. Matt Corlett

    Not yet irrelevant!
The end of this book Gary V finished with a proclamation that this content will be irrelevant by 2017.

On that point I will absolutely disagree. Gary has a talent for distilling core elements of social media and human behaviour, along with VALUES rather than simply techniques. I’ve taken at least a few pages of notes for my social media assistant to implement in her sharing and engagement with our fans.

In short there’s still a great deal of value available. It’s an easy listen, and Gary has good rhetorical style to clarify his points and keep it entertaining.

    Enjoy!

  58. Paris Bue

Gary V. does it and does it well.
Gary V. says how I have felt for years and that is why he makes the big bucks. His dedication to the customer and the capitalism go hand in hand. I wish more people understood how service is king in every business and loyalty lives on relationships! Listen and learn people.

  59. Leonel Slicker

    grayVee the king
All his books are worth a listen! Its a no bs look into how businesses should do marketing! Loved it

  60. Customer

    Still Relevant in 2018
Somehow I missed this one after finishing Crush It, I was about to purchase Vee’s newest release and then saw TYE. I couldn’t pass it up and you shouldn’t either, great read! Simple and to the point. If you’re young and trying to compress all the options or older and trying to make sense of business and social media, this book is for you. If you are actively working and engaged on social media, this book is a great recalibration of your focus and energies. Well worth your time, I chose the Audio version to commit finishing and rereading this book. Highly recommended! Thanks GV!

  61. Eric S Vonheim

    Practical and Useful Advice
This book contains many great examples and pieces of advice for any marketer and human being.

  62. Franklyn Hinnant

outdated but if you’re behind or new listen now!
the concepts are good but are outdated by a few years. if you’re new to marketing or are behind on the times you need this book. the times have changed and customer focus marketing has been here.

  63. Mikki Harte

    Vay ner chu fucking best!

  64. Dewitt K.

    Greatness
Goat! Gary V did another amazing job on this book and the audio book. I love listening to his books. He makes things interesting and it’s hard to stop listening once you get going. Do yourself a favor and listen to every word he says.

  65. Magdalen B.

Why You Need to Use Social Media Correctly
Would you consider the audio edition of The Thank You Economy to be better than the print version?

  66. Tyson Wanless

A must read if you own a small B to C biz
Follow this man wherever he goes. This Book will get you aiming at the right target and aiming at the right target will make you more money.

  67. Dwayne Kowalchuk

    Too much fluff
Too little usable info. Just a review of some businesses and their social media attempts.

  68. Shane Martineau

    Going off script here…
If you could sum up The Thank You Economy in three words, what would they be?

  69. Tony

Gary Vee does it again! amazing!
The fact that he does his own reading for service it’s how dedicated he is to his craft!

  70. Joshua S.

    This book is amazing!
For anyone deciding whether or not to purchase this audio book, I HIGHLY recommend it! It’s great for entrepreneurs, managers, mid-level managers, and even employees! I’m not even halfway through, but the amount of wisdom this book has is invaluable. I’m writing this review in 2018 and I can see the TYE being implemeneted in many businesses, and look forward to implementing it into my own. Thank you Gary Vee!
