Gina Pera is an Adult ADHD expert based in the San Francisco Bay area.

She is the contributor of the first chapter on therapy for ADHD-challenged couples appearing in Dr. Russell Barkley's "gold standard" clinical guide, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A Handbook for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Gina is the co-author, with psychologist Arthur Robin, of the first evidence-based guide to couple therapy for Adult ADHD (Routledge, 2015): Adult ADHD-Focused Couple Therapy: Clinical Interventions

Her first book, the bestselling Is It You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.? Stopping the Roller Coater When Someone You Love Has Attention Deficit Disorder, garnered four national book awards:1. With a background as an award-winning print journalist, Gina brought those skills to researching Adult ADHD after her husband was diagnosed in 1999.

For more than a decade, she has led discussion groups for adults with ADHD and their partners in Palo Alto, California. She also founded and moderates a long-running free and private online discussion group for the partners of adults with ADHD—at last count, 1,000 members worldwide.

Her ADHD Roller Coaster blog features news of research findings, first-person essays, and other topics affecting the ADHD community.

Gina's current work focuses on couple-therapy for ADHD-challenged couples:

1. The preeminent research scientist in the field of ADHD, Dr. Russell Barkley, asked Gina to write the chapter on couple therapy for his upcoming revision of the "gold standard" clinical guide: ADHD Diagnosis and Treatment Handbook (in press).

2. Routledge Press recruited Gina to produce a professional guide for couple therapists: ADHD-Focused Couple Therapy (in press)

With this work, Gina hopes to elevate the standards of clinical care for these couples.
